Helpful advice to set your fundraiser up for success
Thank you for creating a fundraiser to help kids at Children’s Mercy! Your support will help enable research breakthroughs and create a world of well-being for all children. Below are some simple tips and ideas that can help make your fundraiser both successful and awesome! You can also download our online fundraising toolkit.
Share why you love Children’s Mercy
Once you’ve picked the option that best describes your fundraiser, customize your page with your personal story, photos and videos to show why you love Children’s Mercy.
Whether it’s your own personal story of care, your child’s, a family member’s or friend’s story that made an impact on you, this personal touch will create a connection between you and the people you’re asking to donate to your fundraiser.
Be the first to give back
Before you start sharing your fundraiser, be the first to show why you believe in more moments for kids. Make a donation to your own page and post a comment explaining why you give to Children’s Mercy. As a champion for kids, you know the power of your gift — comfort, compassion and care for every family at Children’s Mercy. As the first donor to your fundraiser, you will inspire others to make a difference.
Your online fundraiser will show your friends and family that LOVE WILL stop at nothing. Utilize the tools you have to share your page with close connections and ask for donations:
- Email your friends near and far using the templates in the “EMAIL” section of your fundraiser manager page. Customize your email by sharing some of the reasons why you love Children’s Mercy and want to give back, and why they should, too!
- Use the Facebook and Twitter sharing options on your fundraiser page to let your friends and followers know what you’re fundraising for and why. Consider tagging specific people to notify them about what you’re up to and how they can make an impact!
Update your donors and say thank you
The inspiring thing about online fundraising is that you can see the progress you’re making toward your goal in real-time. Consider posting a special congratulations message to the donors who help you get you to your halfway and quarter-way marks! This will encourage others to help you meet your goal.
Once people start donating, don’t forget to say thank you! A special note to each of your donors who participate in your fundraiser goes a long way. You can use the template thank you email messages on your fundraiser page or send a customized note letting the donor know how they are helping create a world of well-being for all children.
Thank you for being a champion for kids. You are behind every success in our quest to make the world a healthier place for children. Together, our love is bringing hope to families and the promise of healthy futures filled with the moments that matter.
